“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” – Isaiah 9:6 (NIV)
We can all agree that when life happens, it can be frustrating and overwhelming. Circumstances beyond our control leave us feeling helpless, and we are forced to cope with situations that seem impossible. In those moments, it’s easy to feel like there is no hope, especially when everything around us looks hopeless.
The great thing about God is that in Him, there is always hope. Even when we make choices outside of His will, His grace and mercy are extended to us because He loves us. The birth of Jesus Christ is the ultimate proof of that love. God sent His only Son into the world not just to save us but to give us eternal hope.
Everything in Christ is hope, and anything outside of Him isn’t. He is the light in our darkness, the open door when others are closed, and the final say when the world says, “No.” This is why our trust must be solely in Him. Our hope and confidence are not built on the shifting sands of this world but on the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.
Isaiah 9:6 reminds us of the beautiful names of our Savior: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. These names encapsulate the hope we find in Him. As the Wonderful Counselor, He guides us when we feel lost. As the Mighty God, He strengthens us when we feel weak. As the Everlasting Father, He comforts us when we feel abandoned. And as the Prince of Peace, He quiets the storms within our hearts.
This Christmas, as we celebrate the birth of Jesus, let us be reminded of the unshakable hope we have in Him. He is the hope in darkness, the hope when doors are closed, and the hope that carries us through the uncertainties of life. No matter what we face, we can trust that His plans are good, His love is unwavering, and His hope is eternal. I don’t care how things may look……..do NOT GIVE UP HOPE which is JESUS CHRIST!! His plan may not be easy to understand but He is always up to something wonderful and for your good.
In Him who is our ETERNAL HOPE
