The Prophetic Calling of the Christian

Bible Text: Isaiah 6 | The Old Testament prophets bring a crucial element into the mix of Biblical themes: social justice. All prophets see justice as deeply tied to the right worship of God. Conversely, the idolatry of the people always leads to the oppression of the weak. In the modern setting, the calling of the Christian to be a Kingdom builder includes a calling to advocate for justice, and to do so publicly, in the present moment, and to the “powers that be.”
